I am a Humane Educator with the Ethical Choices Program, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The organization offers free humane education presentations, primarily addressing issues related to food choices and the impact of those choices.
The following presentations are available:
Obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer and other diseases are lifestyle-related. Participants learn about the connections between diet and health and discuss ways that informed dietary choices can help prevent or relieve diseases. We also take a look at modern factory farming methods.
The Environment and Modern Agriculture
We explore how raising farmed animals and related crops affect ecosystems and our health through climate change, the depletion of natural resources, pollution, pesticides, antibiotics, soil erosion, deforestation and world hunger. We discuss alternative choices that can help protect our environment.
More than 95% of animals raised for food in the U.S. and Canada are raised in intensive confinement facilities, often called "factory farms." Participants learn about the realities for animals, the impact on the environment and the health implications of modern agriculture practices. We also explore the alternatives for a more compassionate and just society.

Veganism has been born in me from the inside out. I am passionate about helping you to adopt a lifestyle which truly enhances your total being. It is not just about food; it is about an inner transformation.

Regarding my professional qualifications, I am a teacher and college lecturer and have taught in high school, colleges of further education, a private business college and served as a College Principal.
Currently I am working as a Humane Educator with the Ethical Choices Program which is the perfect vehicle for my teaching passion. I conduct professional presentations on Vancouver Island, BC, in high schools, colleges, universities and other organizations. The presentations highlight pertinent information and enlist up-to-date science regarding the benefits of a plant based diet.
I am also a World Peace Diet facilitator. This training, which is provided by Dr Will Tuttle PhD, encompasses all aspects of the vegan lifestyle. In addition I have undertaken training in vegan cooking and hold a certificate for Healthy Vegan Cooking from the award winning chef and author, Mark Reinfeld.
